Bedroom Makeover

When I spent days in bed feeling sick from chemo staring at the one brown wall drove my crazy! As soon as my treatment was over, the bedroom was the first room I was determined to decorate. I started painting it white before Christmas as I just wanted to get rid of that brown wall that reminded me of feeling ill. The rest of the room was painted in a magnolia, so I took my time painting the rest in a fresh white coat of paint. The white just lifted the room and made it feel so much fresher.

We had already invested in a new bed when we moved in and I still love it, it's the Stella bed from Next and is finished in pink velvet. Luckily we have a build in wardrobe on the landing, so we don't need a wardrobe in the bedroom, which creates more space. I've tried to keep furniture minimal so the space is nice and calm. There's a chest of drawers against one wall, a dressing table and I've added a second hand wicker chair in the corner. We replaced the clunky old wall lights with brass ones and I still need to replace the brown blind, which is on my to do list!
