Two of my favourite things to purchase, coats and boots and probably the things I wear the most! When it comes to coats for the winter, investing in something early in the season is wise, before all the best styles sell out! A coat is an investment so opting for something classic like a belted camel overcoat or trench style will be in your wardrobe for many years.
My spending habits when it comes to fashion have changed over the years, from dressing up for the office to dressing for the school run. I now buy more practical day to day pieces and over the years I have collected a small coat wardrobe and I turn to each style every season; from a camel coat and faux furs to puffas and parkas. This season you may have noticed the quilted jacket is big news with many high street brands having their own version. The lightweight styles are the perfect piece for layering before the weather gets too cold!
Come autumn time I live in boots because they go with anything, dresses, jeans, trousers and skirts. To me they always feel a bit more polished than trainers whilst offering comfort for daily living.
Ankle boots have mainly taken centre stage on the high street for the last few years and also in my wardrobe! I do have one pair of tan suede knee high boots which I consider an investment, (actually bought them just before lockdown number 1) so they haven’t had that many outings yet!
This season chunky boots are still very much on trend, whether it’s oversized soles or the stompy hiker boot style I find pairing these with floral dresses or lace blouses is a great way to balance out the toughness of these kind of boots. Here are a few styles I'm loving at the moment, hope you enjoy the edit.
