Since moving into our new home in December we have have rearranged furniture countless times but had already planned what room was going to be what. In the new house we have a rather small hallway and a snug which is a through room to the kitchen. Originally the plan was to turn the room into an office space for me; the pic above shows how I first set up the room. I had never really had a big space for before; the small desk I had was usually in the corner of a room and I briefly had a desk set up in the box room in our old house when the girls shared a room. But I have since found that I don't use the room as a 9-5 and it also has a lot of wasted space.
We've decided to make the space into a boot room come storage space for coats and shoes and general house admin etc. I don't know what it is but there's always stuff that gets collected and then needs to be stored. Shelving and hooks is a must plus a storage bench. We already have a little armchair in there so we will probably keep that in the corner so it looks nice, I don't want it to become a dumping ground, it's still a room so I want to use it wisely. Will keep you updated soon!
